I've personally spent the better part of twenty five years working on and offshore in the oilfield. When you're not dead tired and ready to hit the bunk, life can be a little boring, especially for service hands who may be waiting for their turn to work. There is usually just one television, on a show that you have seen a half dozen times. Time can pass a little easier with a few gadgets, such as a good MP-3 player, Kindle E-Book Reader and a good set of noise canceling headphones.
